I haven’t used it yet but, fits perfectly in to the small backpack I have to store my electronics when on the go, thanks!
Looking for another brand
Thoughtfully designed to fold up and stay well protected during transport and operation. I placed the panel in the bright sunlight and connected to the battery pack for the SOLIX cooler (keeping the battery in the shade). This was during the afternoon, so it did not get a full charge, but the battery indicator did show that the battery was charging.
If the cooler is going to be used solely by battery power, you will want to have two batteries: one to keep on the solar charger and one in the cooler. If you are going to set the cooler on maximum cooling you might want a third battery and an extra solar panel.
Bought this to upgrade from an old 7watt goal zero solar panel kit I was using and its is a bit bigger in size but it weighs roughly the same amount as the old panel and can output way more wattage. I saw the cloak they were showing off at the showcase and I doubt it will be useful on a trail because the makers didn't account for the fact that most of the worn solar panels would be covered up by your bag and gear, also it being all black means wearing it during the day to charge stuff is gonna be brutal on your health because it's gonna make you overheat constantly. You should have made the cloth fabric white or beige to reflect light better. I think the heater option in the cloak is dumb and expensive you're better off boiling some water and putting it in a nalgene in your sleeping bag. However the 100watt solar umbrella is a really cool idea that should be bundled with the everfrost 2. Its like they were made for each other.
Very functional little panel works very well
